hey i was wondering what is lowest temperature to go swimming in and not get hypothermia or other cold related sicknesses?What is the safest minimum temperature to go swimming?

Water dissipates body heat 20x as fast as air. Body fat % and physical conditioning are the other factors I know of. In below freezing conditions you have app. 6 min. to get out before you will probably need help. The ambient air temp is the big factor, as I have been in glacial ponds @ +5c. but on a +26 day you can get out and warm up fast.
60 degrees is usually comfortable and 50 degrees with a spring suit although many can go in 50 without and it is not unheard of to go into 40...i would say that is the absolute MINIMUM SAFEST...but ya might catch a cold...so ummm yeah.
it is the same as the outside temperature....
