What is Neuropathy?

What is this condition? and what are the symptoms?What is Neuropathy?
its a disorder that effects the nervous system. symptoms include weakness, pain, loss of coordination, and sensory loss in the arms and legs.
Neuropathy is a combination of two words. Neuro - meaning nerves and pathy - meaning illness (loosely translated). Therefore, neuropathy means "illness of then nerves". Basically it is a general term for a disease or condition affecting the nervous system. For more information on the different types of neuropathy, check out wikipedia below.
My elderly mom has neuropathy. Her feet are numb all the time. Neuropathy can be a result of diabetes or those cholesterol lowering drugs called statins among other disorders.
