What is the function of the temporal lobe?
"The temporal lobe is involved in auditory processing and is home to the primary auditory cortex. It is also heavily involved in semantics both in speech and vision."
So in regular English, the temporal lobe is responsible for processing what you hear, as well as processing some of the meaning in what you see and hear, has a HUGE role in speech, and it also has a role in memory.

The lobe of the cerebral hemisphere located down on the side just forward of the occipital lobe. The temporal lobe contains the auditory cortex which is responsible for hearing. It is also the site of the seizure activity characteristic of temporal-lobe epilepsy.
