What happens to your body when you sing?

does anything in particular get stressed? and Why does your throat hurt afterwards? what is the science of singing? What happens to your body when you sing?
You throat hurts as you haven't prepared yourself properly and may be pushing too hard on your vocal chords.
With any exercise, you have got to warm up properly
your vocal chords is muscle also. so it can get stressed the same way as your other body parts
Your throat hurts because your not opening your mouth and using your diaphram. Did you know that you burn more calories singing than playing football. When you use your diaphram correctly and push it in on runs... the air shoots openly to your soft palet and goes out of the mouth. Your vocal chords do not get strained at all when singing correctly. The minute you feel pressure on your chords, transfer the work to your abs.
