What does it mean when someone isn't blinking their eyes?

is it a disorde with a name? he is laying down staring at the ceiling, eyes open not blinking. Can hear you but barely responds, sometimes (if you yell, or a certain person comes to see him) he will seem to snap out of it and his eyes "wake up". But then out of nowhere he is gone again and his eyes are void looking and he doesn't blink. It just started 3 days ago and is getting worse and worse. THe doctor says it's depression, but hasn't came to see him, and he can't get out.... what could be wrong? What does it mean when someone isn't blinking their eyes?
Even with depression you have to blink your eyes. The eyes need it for moisture or they will dry out.
pst knock knock you spelled it right.
I am sorry I looked everywhere and can find no reference. Is he not eating? going to the washroom? drinking? bathing?
I do not know why he cannot get out, but somehow he needs to be seen by someone. It is very unprofessional for a doctor to say this and then never do anything. Perhaps you could call the office and speak to him and tell him how bad it is getting. Ask him what you should do.
He seems to be lost in his mind. Perhaps he has had a shock and is unable to deal with things. All we in here can do is conjecture and offer insufficient advice.
He is lucky to have a friend who cares.
He must bet medical care and it is obviously more than a simple layperson can deal with.
That's bizarre...
Catatonic not sure of spelling but its phonetically correct. People can become catatonic when there mind just doesn't want to deal with the problem at hand. There is nothing phyically wrong with them it is mental and several different types of mental disorders can bring it on as well.
